Cosmetic Fillings

In order to provide the most natural appearance, Dr. Harris uses composite resin material to fill your tooth when you have a cavity.  This resin is tooth-colored, so no one will ever know you even have a filling!

In order to treat and fill a cavity, Dr. Harris will first numb your tooth and gum area before removing the cavity and effected tooth structure.  He then bonds the resin material in place where the cavity once was, restoring the form and function of your original, healthy tooth!

Because they are a common and simple procedure, fillings usually require just one office visit.  However, there may be rare occasions when situations complicate a simple cavity, requiring more than one visit for thorough treatment.

If you have questions about composite resin fillings or cavities, or would like to set up an appointment, please contact us today!

Frequently Asked Questions

A tooth decays through a process of bacteria and food wearing down your teeth.  That bacteria and food eventually release acids that attack your teeth after eating.  Because these acids can wear down enamel, they will also cause tooth decay.

If not treated, tooth decay can cause infection and tooth loss, but you can prevent this by brushing and flossing daily and regularly visiting Dr. Harris for check-ups.  Avoiding sugar can also help prevent tooth decay.

Unfortunately, tooth decay doesn't usually cause symptoms and can only be diagnosed by your dentist.  If tooth decay is left unnoticed and causes infection, you may notice a toothache.

If you have any questions about tooth decay or would like to set up an appointment, please contact us today.
